Can I use Alexa to control my heating?

Yes, you can: Viessmann offers integration with cloud-based voice assistants such as Alexa by activating and controlling so-called "skills." To do this, you need a Viessmann heating system, the ViCare app, and either Amazon's smart home assistant Echo or the Amazon Alexa app.

Depending on the components installed, this control can be set up for zone- or room-based heating after initialization. Alexa recognizes many common queries and commands, such as:

• “Alexa, what’s the current temperature in the living room?”
• “Alexa, set the temperature in the bedroom to 22 degrees.”

You can download and install the Amazon Alexa app for your device here:

• Google Play Store

Then enter the keyword “Viessmann” under “Skills - Search” in the app. Select the Skill and click “Start”, then follow the instructions in the app.

Please note that this service is only available in German and English and that multiple installations and/or multiple gateways are not supported.
