Does the Viessmann Energy Management require additional electricity meters?

To visualize the data from your entire system and optimize energy flows, the system requires at least one Viessmann energy meter and the Viessmann Energy Management activation by a specialist partner in the ViGuide app. Whether additional billing meters are required to record the energy data depends on the installed devices, their communication paths and the wiring scheme used.
For systems consisting exclusively of a One Base heat pump (Vitocal from 2022 onwards), the basic version of Viessmann Energy Management is available in some countries, including Germany, and automatically activated. A Viessmann energy meter and activation by a specialist partner in the ViGuide app are not required. The basic version provides tariff-based optimization for the heat pump. However, household consumption is neither taken into account nor displayed.
