How do I know if my heating device is supported by ViCare Smart Climate?

ViCare Smart Climate feature has been developed in order to allow you to independently control the temperature of each room inside of a house, even if you do not have the heating device in your home.

To be able to use ViCare Smart Climate, your heating device has to be working in the so called Weather Compensated mode with an external temperature sensor. If your heating device works in Constant Control mode, you will not be able to use ViCare Smart Climate.

To be able to install and use ViCare Smart Climate devices, you need to have an internet gateway, either a Viessmann Vitoconnect (see below for more information) or via the integrated Wi-Fi module that comes with the newest generation of Viessmann One Base devices.

The Viessmann Vitoconnect internet gateway supports different scenarios:

  • Customers who have an older Viessmann boiler that operates on the OPTO2 protocol 
  • Customers who have non-Viessmann boiler
  • Customers who do not have direct access to the boiler or heat generation source, for example, if they live in an apartment that has radiators for heating
