Which ViCare devices do I need to be able to use ViCare Smart Climate?

ViCare Smart Climate as a standalone solution

To use ViCare Smart Climate at home, you do not basically* need a Viessmann heat generator. It only requires the Vitoconnect communication module, Wi-Fi and the intelligent Viessmann devices.

In addition to the Vitoconnect, the following components and installations are required or recommended for this standalone solution:

Wi-Fi for communication between the Vitoconnect and ViCare app
For radiators:
- One ViCare Radiator Thermostat per radiator
- ViCare Climate Sensor: If you have more than one radiator in the room, we recommend an additional climate sensor per room. The sensor provides information about the temperature and air humidity in your room.
For floor heating:
- One ViCare Climate Sensor per room for floor heating
- One additional ViCare Floor Heating Thermostat per heating circuit manifold
ViCare repeater for signal amplification in large buildings or for installations over several floors

The Vitoconnect serves as an interface between these devices and the Viessmann cloud infrastructure and is the prerequisite for being able to control the climate in your home via the ViCare app. In newer Viessmann heating systems, this interface is already built into the heater.
