How can I use repeaters to ensure optimum signal strength for the operation of my ViCare Radiator Thermostats?
Connectivity
The Vitoconnect communicates with the ViCare Smart Climate devices via low power radio. To maintain this signal reliably and conserve the batteries of all devices, we recommend the use of radio repeaters to amplify the signal, especially under the following conditions:
- The distance between the Vitoconnect and the thermostat is more than 7m.
- Your building is very large or the ceilings or walls are very solid.
When positioning the radio repeater, make sure that the direct radio funk does not run at an angle, but as straight as possible through the wall or ceiling. This ensures that the signal is only disturbed over as short a distance as possible. If several floors are equipped with ViCare thermostats, you should use one radio repeater per floor. All Smart Climate components should have a signal strength of at least 30 percent.
Note: A radio repeater can only pass on the maximum signal strength that it receives itself. Therefore, place a radio repeater close enough to the communication module or another repeater to be able to pass on the highest possible signal strength.
