How to install the ViCare App on android devices without Google Play (APK Installation)

App settings and user account

Important Notice: The official and highly recommended way to download and install the ViCare app for android devices is through the Google Play Store. Installing through Google Play ensures you receive automatic updates and guarantees that the app is fully compatible with your smartphone or tablet: Download ViCare from the Google Play Store here.

Who is this guide for?

We understand that some of our users are unable to access the Google Play Store. This alternative installation guide is designed specifically for customers who:

  1. Use devices without Google Mobile Services (e.g., newer Huawei smartphones).
  2. Cannot locate the ViCare app on the Google Play Store because it is currently not available in their country.
  3. Have a device marked as "incompatible" by the Google Play Store, but still wish to attempt using the app.

Disclaimer on Device Compatibility: By downloading and installing the app directly (sideloading), you are bypassing Google Play's standard device compatibility checks. While the application may successfully install on your phone, please be aware that it might be incompatible with your specific hardware or operating system, which could result in the app not functioning properly.

Step-by-step guide: How to install the ViCare APK

Step 1: Download the ViCare installation file (APK):

Click the link below on your Android device to download the official, latest version of the ViCare installation file directly from our secure servers: Download Latest ViCare APK.

Step 2: Open the downloaded file:

Once the download is complete, open your device's notification panel or go to your "Downloads" folder and tap on the vicare-latest.apk file.

Step 3: Allow installation from external sources:

Because you are not downloading the app from the Google Play Store, Android's built-in security features will block the installation by default.

  1. A popup window will appear with a message similar to: "For your security, your phone is not allowed to install unknown apps from this source."
  2. Tap on Settings directly on this popup.
  3. You will be redirected to the "Install unknown apps" screen. Locate the switch next to Allow from this source and toggle it ON.

Step 4: Install the app:

Tap the "Back" arrow to return to the installation screen. Tap Install and wait for the process to complete. Once finished, you can open the ViCare app and log in to your account!

Post-installation: Protect your device

For your digital safety, we highly recommend disabling the permission to install unknown apps once ViCare has been successfully installed. Leaving this enabled could expose your device to security risks from malicious websites.

Disable installation from unknown sources:

  1. Open your device's Settings.
  2. Navigate to Apps (or Apps & notifications).
  3. Tap on Special app access (you may need to expand an "Advanced" menu to see this).
  4. Select Install unknown apps.
  5. Find the app you used to download the file (e.g., Chrome, or your File Manager).
  6. Toggle the switch for Allow from this source to the OFF position.
